Privacy Policy

FarWalk ("we", "us", "our") operates the FarWalk fitness walking application at farwalk.fit and the FarWalk ChatGPT App. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account information — email address and display name, provided when you sign in via our authentication provider (Clerk).
  • Step data — daily step counts and dates you submit manually, via CSV upload, through the ChatGPT App, or via Health Auto Export from Apple Health.
  • Journey data — which walking routes you activate, your progress along those routes, and milestones reached.
  • Game data — Trail Game state including virtual currency balance, property ownership, card draws, and achievements.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

  • Precise GPS or real-time location data
  • Health data beyond step counts (no heart rate, weight, sleep, etc.)
  • Payment card information or financial data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Chat history or conversation content from ChatGPT

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Core functionality — calculating your journey progress, streak, milestones, and game state.
  • Display — showing your stats on the FarWalk dashboard and through the ChatGPT App.
  • Route estimation — converting step counts to distance using a configurable stride length.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described below.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Clerk — authentication and account management. Clerk receives your email to manage sign-in. See Clerk's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — our backend infrastructure. Your step and journey data is stored in Cloudflare Durable Objects. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — hosts our web application. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • OpenAI (ChatGPT) — if you use FarWalk through ChatGPT, OpenAI facilitates the connection. We receive only the tool call parameters (step counts, dates, route IDs) — never your chat messages. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in per-user encrypted Durable Objects on Cloudflare's global network. Authentication tokens are signed with strong cryptographic keys and expire after one hour. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Access to your data requires your authenticated session — no other user can access it.

6. Data Retention

We retain your step and journey data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

  • Access — view all your data through the FarWalk dashboard or ChatGPT App.
  • Correction — update your step data through the app.
  • Deletion — request complete account and data deletion by contacting us.
  • Portability — export your step history via the dashboard.

8. Children

FarWalk is suitable for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
