Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FarWalk, a fitness walking application operated at farwalk.fit and available as a ChatGPT App. By using FarWalk, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

FarWalk lets you track your daily walking steps and map them onto real-world routes. You choose a route, log your steps, and watch your virtual journey progress along the trail. FarWalk also includes an optional Trail Game where walking earns virtual currency to purchase cities along your route.

2. Accounts

• You must create an account to use FarWalk. Authentication is provided by Clerk.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use FarWalk.
• One account per person. Do not share account access.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Submit false or manipulated step data.
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts.
• Use automated tools to submit data or interact with the service beyond the provided APIs.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service.
• Use FarWalk for any unlawful purpose.

4. Step Data Accuracy

FarWalk converts step counts to distance using an estimated stride length. This is an approximation and not a medical or scientific measurement. FarWalk does not verify the accuracy of step data you submit. You are responsible for the data you provide.

5. Trail Game

• The Trail Game uses virtual currency ("Strides") that has no real-world monetary value.
• Virtual currency and game assets cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred for real money.
• Game balances and assets may be adjusted for game balance purposes.
• The Trail Game is not gambling — outcomes are determined by walking activity and game mechanics, not chance-based wagering.

6. ChatGPT App Integration

When you use FarWalk through ChatGPT, your interaction is also governed by OpenAI's Terms of Use. FarWalk receives only the specific data needed to fulfill your requests (step counts, dates, route selections) — not your chat messages or conversation history.

7. Intellectual Property

FarWalk, its design, route data, game mechanics, and brand assets are owned by us. Your step data and journey progress belong to you. By using FarWalk, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide the service.

8. Availability and Changes

• We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
• Route data (distances, stop locations) may be updated for accuracy.
• We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

9. Disclaimers

FarWalk is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or that distance calculations will be perfectly accurate.

FarWalk is not a medical device or health service. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a healthcare professional before starting any exercise program.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FarWalk and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or physical injury.

11. Termination

You may stop using FarWalk at any time and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
